Eminence Organics – What is Organic Farming?

October 11, 2017

Organic has become a word used more and more by educated consumers who are seeking a level of quality, as well as a lifestyle that is natural, healthy and honors their well-being.

Eminence Organic Skin Care created the Eminence Certified Organic Farm in order to enhance your well-being naturally by growing certified organic ingredients while providing education, healing the earth and honoring our Hungarian roots. Through cultural events and educational visits, we teach future generations about the importance of healthy nutrition and the positive, long lasting impact on lifelong wellness.

“Organic farming” is today’s term for the method of farming that actually existed for centuries. At organic farms, farmers choose not to use chemical pesticides, synthetic fertilizers or genetically-modified organisms. Instead, farmers use time-honored techniques such as crop rotation, companion planting and composting to produce nutrient-rich fruits, vegetables and herbs in harmony with the seasons.

Why is Organic Farming Important?

Eminence Organic Skin Care believes organic farming is essential to help heal and restore the earth through enriching the soil naturally, water conservation and reduction of pollution. In Hungary, organic is a way of life. Organic farming is the way our grandmothers, and their grandmothers before them, grew their own fresh ingredients that they used for food and natural remedies.

What Does Certified Organic Mean?

Many farms make the claim to be organic. By inviting a non-biased organization to inspect, certify and regulate an organic farm, consumers can make educated, confident decisions. At the Eminence Certified Organic Farm, we are certified by Biokontroll Hungaria – the organic certifying organization in Hungary.

Are Organically Grown Plants Better For Me?

Based on scientific research, we certainly think so! A study conducted by the Organic Center for Education and Promotion found that organically-grown plants contain up to 30% more antioxidants (which help maintain your health, naturally!). Another study published through the Soil Health Institute states that organic crops contain 56% more nutrients and up to 47% more vitamin C.
