These vibrant and passionate individuals dedicate their hearts and knowledge to make the Eminence Certified Organic Farm a treasure of the nearby village of Fülöpjakab for generations to come.
József & Józsefné Koronczay
The story begins with József & Józsefné Koronczay. Józsefné grew up watching her mother grow fruits, herbs and vegetables in the garden. From fresh jams, to hearty stews, to handmade skin care creams and masks for the neighbors, every plant had a purpose. Józsefné eventually worked as an esthetician, making her own skin care products for her clients, just as her mother did. As her esthetics skills gained local popularity, Józsefné was introduced to József, an up-and-coming civil engineer. After a date to the Hungarian Opera House and six years of courtship, she and József have celebrated 50+ years of marriage. They visit the farm often, keeping the Koronczay family at the center of the organic farming community.

Attila Koronczay
Following in his father’s footsteps, Attila became a civil engineer, developing a keen eye for strategy, logistics, exact numbers and efficiency. School wasn’t all work for Attila, though – as he was a celebrated, national kayaking champion. When his little brother, Boldijarre, was diagnosed with leukemia at just 4 years old, Attila stuck by his side every step of the journey, forging an unbreakable sibling bond. In 1996, Attila and his brother moved from Budapest, Hungary to Vancouver, Canada to chase their dreams in North America. Now, Attila oversees the natural, organic, and Biodynamic® farm production, product development and manufacturing in Hungary. He was honored with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for his valued work building Eminence Organic Skin Care.
Boldijarre Koronczay
Our farm’s founder, Boldijarre, believes that every day is a gift. A survivor of childhood leukemia, Boldijarre credits his recovery to the natural, organic and Biodynamic® foods he was fed by his family while undergoing treatment. Between hospital stays and watching his mother take care of her esthetics clients with her own handmade skin care products, studying to become one of the first male estheticians in Hungary seemed a natural choice. His unparalleled talents have now earned him A-list clients and the International Spa Industry acknowledged Boldijarre with the “Visionary of the Year” Award for his dedication to the organic skin care movement and his innovative philanthropic efforts, including the Eminence Kids Foundation.

Mátyás Nemes
A true believer in Mother Earth, organic and Biodynamic® farming practices, Mátyás began farming in the 1980s and was one of the pioneers of the certified organic movement in Fülöpjakab. Most notably, he was awarded the Organic Farmer of the Year by the Biokultura Association, a direct affiliate with Biokontroll, the organic certifying organization in Hungary. Mátyás helps select harmonious plants each season, visiting the farm regularly. He consults and educates our farmers with his years of knowledge. The direct translation of Mátyás’s last name, “Nemes,” is “Noble” …which we think is embodied perfectly in his advice for a long, happy life: “Love the people, accept yourself, and serve Mother Earth. In return for love, you will have love and wisdom.”
Gábor Szűcs
Honored as Hungary’s Landscape Architect of the Year, Gábor designed our beautiful farm to showcase the harmony between people and nature in a way that inspires visitors to reconnect with the earth. His love of plants began when he was a child, spending long summers at his grandparents’ farm in Balástya, wandering and playing in their orchard and rose garden with a feeling of limitless freedom. Through eco-conscious design, Gábor’s gardens reflect the natural aura of the land with communities of native plants, inspiring us to find peace while evoking that same sense of childlike wonder and limitless freedom.

Erika & Jani
Our caretakers, Erika & Jani, are essential to our certified organic farm. Pictured here with their little daughter and their mothers, the farm is truly a family affair! Erika & Jani plant, prune, weed, water and harvest our beautiful crops year-round. When the harvest is extra bountiful, their family and friends volunteer their time and efforts to spend a sunny, warm afternoon at the certified organic farm. They are the life force of the farm!
János
Farming is a friends and family business, and János volunteered his time to help with an especially big project at the certified organic farm. He worked for hours, without complaint, pausing only for a minute to laugh and joke with Boldijarre. We love this candid shot between breaks, capturing János in a rare idle moment. Because of dedicated volunteers like János, our farm is what it is today!

Jessica Timberlake
An American who fell in love with Hungary after spending just one day in Budapest, Jessica Timberlake was the perfect photographer and artist to capture all of our farm’s unique beauty. She embodies our authenticity statement below, sometimes waiting for hours just to capture the perfect ray of light upon a flower in bloom, or to capture just the right expression from one of the local frogs along the bank of the pond. Each picture you see has been thoughtfully curated from Jessica’s many trips to the farm, spanning several years and more than a few servings of lángos (much to her delight and gratitude). Jessica is an internationally-recognized photographer and artist, with art featured in galleries, resorts and private collections worldwide, from San Diego to Manhattan, and as far reaching as Croatia and Montenegro.
